Random thoughts

We had a BUSY weekend! We traveled back down to SA to spend the weekend with some of Devlon's friends. We were helping Kevin celebrate his birthday. The boys went fishing Fri and Sat, but came home without any fish. They had fun anyways! They all came back with a little sun though.

The girls (me, Karin & Staci) laid around on Saturday and watched movies. I met my Meemaw for lunch on Friday and Karin came with me. Saturday night we went to a Spurs game. This was my first experience at the new SBC center. Very nice! The Spurs won, of course!

Sunday we headed back to the big D. We took 281, a nice scenic drive. Got home in time to eat dinner and relax for Dancing with the Stars finale (SO EXCITED that Drew won!) and Grey's Anatomy. I was a bit disappointed in the episode, not exactly sure why. Hit the sack and here we are at Monday!

Hoping to get some boxes and suitcases unpacked this weekend and move some more clothes from my house to Devlon's. We will be working on my condo this weekend, so I will post pics and keep everyone updated. We hope to finish all the work in 2 weekends!

Quick Update

This past weekend was full of fun, family and friends! Devlon and I headed to SA on Friday for my best friend's (Melissa) 30th Birthday Party. It was so fun! The kids were adorable and I had a blast just being with them. Shout out to Devlon and Rob for becoming masters at "jumpy rope" and entertaining Brooke! Cam was there and toddled around with Becca.........too cute! It proved to be a late night with LOTS of alcohol consumption by others (I was a designated driver!). Caught up with a old friend, Amy, who has my same job in SA. Melissa's Mom did a great job feeding us all and making the party special for Mel!

Saturday, I took Meemaw shopping for Josh & Tracy's wedding gift. We then went to a couple's shower for them at my aunt and uncle's house. They did such a great job! The food was yummy, decorations so cute, and of course the ambiance and visiting was fun. They got great gifts........it was a mostly "Honey Do" shower, so lots of tools and cooking stuff. I saw some of my friends parents from growing up and it was neat to catch up with them. The countdown to the wedding begins!!!

Sunday we slept in, Mom cooked a yummy breakfast and we sat around. Visited with one of Devlon's cousins in an assisted living center and headed back to Dallas. We arrived to ice and COLD weather!

I will post some pics from this weekend in the morning. We are headed back to SA tomorrow for a b-day weekend for one of Devlon's friends. The boys are going to fish and we are hitting a Spurs game Saturday night...........I am SOOOOOO excited!!

Bathroom Demolition

Here are some pics from the work Devlon and I are doing on my condo..........mostly the 2 bathrooms. The picture of my cool camo gloves with a double T on them are from my Dad, and they sure came in handy! They will get some good use during this project!

Valentine's Day

Happy late Valentine's Day to all! Devlon and I had a wonderful night together! I got home from work and he had purple tulips with one white tulip in the middle of the bunch for me, along with a super sweet card. He cooked dinner.......which was wonderful! He had the table all set with placemats, wine glasses, etc. We had:

Fresh Lobster (yep! how cute is he??) from Central Market
Butter sipping sauce, served in little lobster bowls
Steak
Spinach
Bacon wrapped green beans
Wine

I made a heart shaped carrot cake for dessert......his favorite! Needless to say we didn't exactly eat "light". He had to help me a bit with my lobster, but it was yummy! We then relaxed on the couch. It was a very nice night..........just the two of us........no noisy restuarants, etc.

I gave him a gift certificate for a 1 1/2 hour massage and the movie Dodge Ball.

Happy Birthday to my bestest friend in the whole wide world! Mel, you deserve a wonderful day full of love, laughter, and fun! I am so thankful for your wonderful friendship and the many memories! We have plenty to look back on, but so much more to look forward to!

Welcome to the BIG 3....0! I'm so looking forward to the next ten years of sharing our friendship across the miles! Love ya!

Disappearing post

So my last post just disappeared.......out of the blue! So, I will re-visit it with some other information and happenings!

Devlon and I have decided to try and sell my condo. We looked at the logistics........we are together all the time, we could pay off our debt, we could make his home "our home", etc. So we told my parents.......I think they are OK with it. They would prefer us to be engaged, but I know that will come at the right time. My Dad doesn't want it to become a permanent live-in situation. They want to make sure I am doing the right thing..........selling my condo is a BIG deal! Devlon and I have talked and talked and are confident we are making the right decision for us, for our relationship now and in the future.

So, we have met with a realtor, who ran the comps on condos in my area. We are starting some minor modifications this weekend..........Devlon is tearing up my bathroom counterops as I type this. We are planning on doing the following:

Tile bathroom countertops
Re-tile the floor in the 2nd bathroom
Replace light in 2nd bathroom and make an electrical outlet (right now the only electrical source is in the light....OLD SCHOOL)
New sinks & fixtures in both bathrooms
Possibly new fixtures in main bathtub
Replace oven

So we have quite the list! I'll keep you posted on progress and take some pics!

Melissa is in McKinney this weekend with the girls........we are planning to go meet them for dinner and some games tonight. Lunch tomorrow with his parents and then back to my house. Some more work, moving a few things over to his house (cleaning out my closets so they are empty when we list it), etc. Should be interesting. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I Heart Days off

So today is my day off! I work 9 hours days and every other Thursday I am off. Fun stuff! It's funny when that day comes around how much I feel like I need it and look forward to it. Usually, I have a ton of errands to run. Like today:

Bank - to deposit a check and COMPLAIN! Yes, my ATM card "never to be seen again" per the Bank's customer service rep did indeed pop out of the machine.......who knows how long after I left. Remember, I was assured this wouldn't happen.......that my card was lost to some black hole and probably shredded. Tuesday night I stopped home and had 10 messages from some old (and very nice) lady who found my card on the ground. She looked up my name in the phone book and called to get the card back to me. I was a little freaked out that she got my contact info (I swear I thought I wasn't in the phone book), so I called the bank first. No funny business is showing on my account. I call her back. Thank her profusely for calling me, not using it, taking the time to CARE....which doesn't happen so much these days. I ask her to tear up the card, because it is in fact no good to me anymore. She told me to be more careful in the future! EXCUSE ME.......I was careful. But, I told her thanks and to have a good night.

UPS to pick up a package. I DON'T for the life of me understand why UPS only attempts to deliver during working hours. HELLO! How many people out there are actually home M-F from 8:00am to 5:30pm. Get for real. So after 3 attempts to deliver, I have to go get it from them so it doesn't go back to the company. I am excited to get it! I ordered a fun and cute shirt for my furture sister-in-law, named Tracy. Yep, her name will be Tracy Pipes in April. It is already confusing when we are all in the same house. But, we love her so bring on the Tracy Pipes! Maybe in somewhat distant future I will have a new last name and give her the full honors of the Pipes last name. Good thing she already knows her names goes with Pipes! You know, when you first start dating someone how you practice saying your name with his.........just to see what it sounds like. We women do it with every man, serious relationship or not. Hell, we even do it with crushes. But, it never sounds just right until you find the "one", and even if it doesn't exactly go together, it still sounds right because it belongs to "him". I am lucky that mine will sound just right........someday! We women are crazy. Agree?

Well, I must start my string of errands. I should also be thinking about Devlon's Heart Day gift.......still not totally decided and need to hit the store to cook dinner for us tonight. Maybe I should have more days off!
